This Is Horrible! - Relief At Last!
"While I am unalterably opposed to corset wearing, I do not hesitate to say that the women who wear them will do well to substitute the Q.D. Clasp for those now in use." - Annie Jenness Miller, Dress Reformer.
If you'd like to more about the Dress Reformers click here.
I learned that the movement started with corsets and underwear because it "could be modified without exposing the wearer to social ridicule". And did you know that "In the 19th century, poor women were known to wear corsets "boned" with rope, rather than steel or bone, to facilitate work in the field."

Do Your Christmas Shopping Early - 1924
In 1924 the nice people at the Montgomery Ward Company sent out their Fall/Winter catalog to show you everything you could want or need. Here they give you suggestions for Christmas gifts. Choose from watches, rings, silver set, cuff links, pens, clocks and pearls. I would like the beaded bag with tortoise shell frame, thank you very much.

Lewis Carroll's Christmas Greetings
Today I got a 1923 copy of Alice In Wonderland. Unfortunately it's in very poor condition (falling apart), but this poem was just before the title page.
As an extra treat click here.

I wanted to be witty and clever today, but instead you just get cranky and pitiful. Sorry 'bout that.
