Television and Radio Scarfs - 1950
You slacker! Haven't you made scarfs for your entire house? The TV, the Radio, all your Chairs, Tables, Dressers and Couches? Well, what about the Fridge? Get going!
And here I was thinking you were all proper upright gals. Get out your crochet hooks and get respectable! Now admittedly, making up a topper for that flat screen TV won't take you long, but this booklet didn't even mention the bathroom....I'm sure I have something around here that tells us how to decorate the toilet, let me look...
I've got several of these things from my grandmothers and great grandmother....and I use them on everything! So does my mom. She even has one on her coffee table, which was my great grandmother's and is the identical twin of the one in the colour picture (the table, not the scarf!). I think the refrigerator scarf is pushing it a bit though!!!
This brings back memmories, my grandma used to make dresses for little dolls, that she would then stand in the loo roll and the dress would cover it. Some where plain while on others she went way over with lots of frills and little beads. we all knew what it covered still dont see the point of them.
I suspect she made them for the same reason most crafts get made, because of the pleasure she got from just making them. Being creative, even if it's following directions or a recipe, just feels good. And then that toilet paper was out of sight too!
no need for me to make any I shall inherit a boxfull from my mother in law!
