What comes first? The project or the fabric?
How do you get your inspiration? From what you want to make? Or does a fabric sing to you to make something? Or both?

I have always designed something first, then found the fabric. But I always keep fabric in mind when I am designing.
ReplyDeleteFor example, I have an idea of a little 50's dress I want to make, and I know exactly what I want the fabric to look like, so I will be on the lookout for fabric that I want for this project for the next few weeks. If I dont find the fabric, I will put that project on hold.
Both! Sometimes a fabric in the store whispers what it wants to be. Sometimes a pattern begs to be taken home and made.
ReplyDeleteI love what you find!
Thanks so nice to hear...I love getting comments... it's more fun this way. :-)
