I love the things I find inside patterns...here's a letter from Cindy asking her Mom to sew some shifts for her. It's undated, but she included $4.00 to cover the making of 3 shifts, fabric, notions and shipping! I hope she got nice decals for the crib.
Here is the pattern she sent to her Mom...pretty cute!
This totally made me tear up. Makes me really happy about my daughter's little requests, which I think I should now start saving. She's five and has been drawing her dream kindergarten wardrobe for her momma to get started on already!
How cute.. wow, your shopping habits in your profile sound so ideal... I love finding new op shops in out-of-the-way places, I'm sure you stumble on gold all the time!
I remember being a young military wife and expecting my first. My mom sewed for me and mailed tops to me. We lived in California and of course my folks were here in East Texas. Thanks for the memories! (That 9 months is actually when I decided to learn to sew on an old second hand singer.)
Welcome! I have this blog to share the treasures I find related to vintage sewing, and vintage fashion with occasional detours into whatever crosses my path. Everything I post is from some actual item I found. If you'd like to buy something you see contact me.
I sell sewing patterns for a living, you'll see the link below. Come on by!
Aw, that's so sweet! Thanks for sharing. :)
