Sears, Roebuck and Co. Catalog from 1948 - Shoes! (and Slippers)
While the color choices leave room for desire, you can't fault the styles. There are some very cool shoes here!

..and my sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Hennessy, was wearing the same style of perf'd, tie up high heeled oxford when I had her in 1963-1964 -- black and brown for fall/winter, white for June and September when, to her mind (and ours too, sweating through the first three weeks of school)it was STILL summer.
