Charming Night Gowns - 1923

From Nuns Boilproof Thread Catalog, 1923

  1. I have seen instructions for making this neckline in a Woman's Institute book. It requires the nightgown to be made in one piece, with no shoulder seams. You mark a square where the neck is to be, and then slash an "X" to each corner, fold it back and stitch it down with embroidery or lace. Neat little sewing trick, hm?

  2. Oh, I can see that in my mind! It would totally work!
Slick idea for kids or babies too. Especially if you used machine stitching.
I can see all sorts of possibilities...thanks!
